This is my first post and is going to be a rather long one. Future posts will definitely be shorter. This is not in error but rather because I feel that wordy descriptions can detract from the message the image has to convey.

I would like you to be asking yourself questions like… Is this a picture of a man or a woman? Why is he sitting at the computer in the dark? Is he sitting in a dark room or is it night time? Why is there no light on in the room? What is he doing at the computer? Etc..

Also, you will need to determine what the photographer’s intent was in taking the photograph… What message did he want to convey? Does the photograph stir an emotion in you? What is the atmosphere and mood in the picture? What is the mood of the subjects in the photo? How do the subjects make you feel, and how does the overall image make you feel? Etc.

Then there is the composition of the picture. Besides any technical issues regarding the photograph, is the photo (within the context of its subject matter) satisfying, pleasing, upsetting or disturbing to look at. Etc..

I really want the observer to have the pleasure of going along that interesting journey without me instilling any preconceived ideas in your mind by always captioning a photo.

I will give metadata (info about camera used and its settings) whenever possible.
